Visit with the Queen Mother

gb1The heifer the Canadian Angus Association gave the Queen Mother for her 100th birthday was a hit. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was delighted to have a gift that would continue.

Belvin Canadiana has since added two calves to the herd. The first heifer calf was by Spearhead 12G Fairlad 33/77, also the sire of Colton's Belvin Duchess heifer. Leo and Edna Brietzke are to be commended for offering the heifer for the draw and for presenting the heifer.

We were extremely honored to have been invited to meet the Queen Mother and have lunch with her. Her Majesty was a real charmer. It was an experience that will never be forgotten. The Queen Mother loved her Angus cattle and it was a tremendous honor for all Angus breeders to have had her as the Patron of all Angus Societies in the world.

Belvin Angus donated Belvin Lady Blossom 62'06 to the Alberta Junior Angus Association on behalf of the Black Magic Sale group. The heifer calf was sold at the Farmfair Angus Sale and purchased by Gordon & Karen Prichard for $10,000 with all proceeds going to the Juniors.

Belvin Lady Blossom 62'06 was then named Intermediate Heifer Calf Champion at Farmfair.

The Black Magic donation heifer program has raised more than $25,000 in four years for the Alberta Junior Angus Association.
